Biography
Hiro Tanikawa (HIRO)
HIRO was born in Yokohama Japan in 1947. He graduated from Tokyo Design College, having studied comics and animation graphics.
When HIRO was young, he aimed to be a cartoonist. Many of HIRO's cartoons were published by boy's magazines in Japan, but HIRO decided to change his artwork subject to fine art and commercial illustration.
HIRO's artwork has been created for Japanese children's books, jigsaw puzzles, stationery and calendars. Now HIRO is seeking to internationally license his cute and heartwarming artworks for many of the same types of products, such as jigsaw puzzles, stationery, calendars and school supplies, etc.
HIRO is currently teaching the art techniques to students at the Nagaoka Institute of Design in Japan.
